About the Role
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the global GLAD team to develop and maintain server-side processes critical to Nomura’s regulatory and internal liquidity reporting requirements. This role involves architecting, developing, and enhancing a large-scale data processing platform using Scala and Apache Spark on AWS/MinIO, and working closely with business users to deliver high-quality data for regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain various server-side processes critical to meeting Nomura’s regulatory and internal liquidity reporting requirements.
- Architect, develop, and enhance a large-scale data processing platform using Scala and Apache Spark on AWS/MinIO.
- Work closely with business users to analyse business requirements and deliver high-quality data for regulatory reporting, including liquidity and risk metrics.
- Contribute to the strategic enhancements to the platform such as migration to AWS.
- Implement and help optimize AI solutions for automated development, support and documentation.
Requirements
- Experienced Java / Python / Scala developer
- Relational database experience
- Competent working in a Linux environment
- Fluency in English with strong written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills, comfortable with working as part of a globally spread-out team
- Scala Experience
- Experience with Apache Spark SQL/Dataframes
- Knowledge of Basel III and liquidity reporting
- Exposure and interest in using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot
