About the Role

The Investment Manager role sits within Bayes Business School and works on the Bayes Entrepreneurship Fund (BEF), a £15m venture fund providing early stage capital to promising and ambitious companies. Initial investments are typically £250k upwards. BEF was created with the support of Peter Cullum, a high profile Bayes alumnus and serial entrepreneur.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Investment Director and Investment Analyst.
Manage interactions with current and prospective investee companies.
Assess risk opportunities.
Identify and close £1m-£2m of risk investments per year on appropriate terms.
Monitor and manage the investment portfolio.
Source and develop profitable exit opportunities for the portfolio.
Review investment enquiries.
Perform financial and business analysis tasks.
Produce investment papers.
Lead various elements of deal formation and execution.
Monitor and manage the portfolio.

Requirements

Degree qualified and highly numerate.
Meaningful venture capital or private equity transactions experience.
Experience of UK investment structures.
Experience playing a significant role in investment analysis, both commercial and financial, for such transactions.
Capability and maturity to function as a peer alongside entrepreneurs, financial and legal advisors, and potential co-investing parties.
Experience of building relationships with portfolio companies in past roles.
Ability to review and challenge financial forecasts as presented by early stage companies.
Significant exposure to companies in this stage of development.
