You will translate user needs into interfaces and configurations, own the user experience for configuring, running, customizing, and evaluating workloads, and establish validation for packaging, execution, and application outcomes. You will profile workloads for performance improvements, capture necessary conditions for reproducibility, and collaborate with other engineers to enhance shared capabilities and mentor colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Develop engine integrations, application code, adapters, templates, and developer tools.
- Translate researcher and engineer tasks, assumptions, dependencies, and outcomes into interfaces and configurations.
- Take ownership of how users configure, run, customize, and evaluate workloads.
- Define meaningful inputs, defaults, constraints, and outputs.
- Build command-line and API interfaces.
- Create examples and documentation to help users extend existing templates or author their own.
- Establish appropriate validation for packaging, execution, and application outcomes.
- Make evaluation criteria and their limitations clear to domain specialists.
- Profile workloads to improve preparation time, GPU utilization, concurrency, and data movement.
- Capture inputs, versions, settings, and execution conditions needed to reproduce runs.
- Provide logs, metrics, and artifacts to help users diagnose failures, compare experiments, and interpret results.
- Turn feedback from early users into better interfaces, defaults, tests, and guidance.
- Identify reusable patterns across integrations.
- Shape shared platform capabilities.
- Review designs and mentor colleagues.
- Use coding agents and automation to accelerate development.
- Apply review, testing, and domain judgment to ensure software behaves as intended.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills, demonstrated through dependable software or developer tools used by other people.
- Applied depth in at least one relevant area, such as robotics simulation, autonomous-vehicle evaluation, reinforcement learning, synthetic-data generation, or engineering simulation.
- Experience making specialist or research software usable beyond its original author, including configuration, testing, documentation, and diagnosis.
- Sound judgment about experimental assumptions, evaluation criteria, reproducibility, and the conclusions a result supports.
- Familiarity with containerized execution and experience tracing problems across application and infrastructure boundaries.
- Comfortable learning unfamiliar tools and domains, working closely with specialists and recognizing when their expertise is needed.
- Evidence of improving shared tools or engineering practices across multiple projects, with clear reasoning about what should be common and what should remain application-specific.
- Successful applicants offered employment will be required to complete a basic criminal record check.
