About the Role

You are a brand designer with a love for typography and craft who can turn an idea into a convincing story. At Design Hotels, you will shape the visual identity of our brand and of the hotels in our community, developing brand identities from concept to complete visual systems and bringing them to life across print and digital touchpoints. This is a hands-on design role without team leadership or art direction for photo and film productions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative routes and brand identities for hotels, including logos, typography, color, and graphic language.
  • Set the image style for each brand and curate visuals with intent.
  • Transform identities into scalable visual systems and clear, easy-to-use brand guidelines.
  • Design print and digital assets for Design Hotels and its member hotels, such as stationery, menus, signage, social media, and campaigns.
  • Create concept presentations, moodboards, and decks, and present ideas to stakeholders and hotel partners.
  • Prepare print-ready artwork and collaborate with print partners on materials and finishes.
  • Work closely with copywriters, digital designers, and project managers, managing multiple projects with a high level of craft.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in brand or identity design, ideally in an agency or design studio.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong identity work with case studies demonstrating the design process from concept to application.
  • Excellent design and conceptual skills, with the ability to explore distinct creative routes and develop them into convincing designs.
  • A strong sense of imagery and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent typography skills, including type pairing and detailed typesetting, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong presentation skills, including building compelling decks in Keynote, PowerPoint, or Google Slides and explaining design decisions.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of print production, including artwork preparation, color management, papers, and finishes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly, listen well, and handle feedback constructively.
  • A proactive, well-organized, and hands-on team player who enjoys close collaboration.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.
  • Permission to work within Germany.
