About the Role
This role supports Gross-to-Net (GTN) management for Pfizer’s U.S. Hospital Injectable and Biosimilar portfolio, focusing on pricing, contracting, and chargebacks. You will analyze commercial insights and analytics to assess and communicate their impact on GTN, revenue, margin, and profitability. The role also advances automation and AI-enabled analytics to improve GTN analysis, forecasting, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytics to inform GTN assumptions, focusing on contracting and chargebacks, and advise stakeholders on the impact of 340B, Medicaid, and other key GTN drivers on revenue and profitability.
- Support chargeback accrual pipeline calculations and related analytics using approved methodologies and assumptions.
- Analyze contracting activity, claims, utilization, pricing trends, and other commercial data to identify emerging trends and assess potential impacts to GTN and revenue forecasts.
- Compare commercial assumptions with actual experience, identify key drivers of variance, and provide business rationale and analytics to support forecast refinement and decision-making.
- Partner with Finance, Controllership, and Commercial stakeholders to provide data, insights, and business context for GTN forecasting, accrual assessment, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Inform GTN forecasts by providing commercial assumptions, analytics, and insights related to contracting, chargebacks, payer/channel mix, pricing actions, and new product launches.
- Provide commercial GTN inputs and business rationale to support Finance forecasting and planning cycles, including budget, latest estimates, reforecasts, and long-range planning.
- Model the GTN, revenue, and profitability impact of contracting strategies to inform decisions before they are finalized.
- Develop what-if scenarios and key-driver sensitivities to assess the potential impact of contracting changes, market dynamics, and legislative changes, translating results into clear, actionable insights.
- Serve as functional owner of the commercial revenue and demand data repository, ensuring its architecture accurately supports GTN calculations and forecasting outputs.
- Ensure data integrity between the contract management system (Flex) and the corporate ERP; optimize use of chargeback and script-level data and third-party aggregators to improve rebate validation and forecast accuracy.
- Drive automation, scalable dashboards, and reporting improvements leveraging AI-enabled tools responsibly to shift capacity toward insight generation.
- Serve as a key liaison between PCO and Finance, translating commercial strategies and contracting activities into clear financial implications while ensuring alignment with financial reporting, accounting, and control requirements.
- Partner with PCO on pre-deal analytics so contracting and pricing assumptions are aligned to forecast — and feed executed-deal outcomes back to sharpen future forecasts.
- Coordinate GTN data collection and assumption refresh across Business Analytics, Contract Operations, Government Pricing, Distribution, Finance, and Accounting.
- Assist in List Price calculations and impact analytics associated with wholesaler price adjustments, shelf stock adjustments, etc.
- Partner with finance business partner on Government Pricing and Compliance on the accrual implications of Medicaid (MDRP), 340B, and FSS/FCP; understand and explain government pricing calculations.
- Support business-specific pricing governance, including financial evaluation of contracting decisions and performance against original GTN projections, while ensuring coordination and alignment with broader Pfizer pricing governance requirements and timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with at least 6 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 5 years of experience; OR a PhD with 1+ years of experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical gross-to-net, revenue/deductions, pricing analytics, or commercial finance.
- Deep working knowledge of pharmaceutical GTN and deduction structures, including chargebacks, rebates, GPO administrative fees, 340B, Medicaid, and other key pricing and contracting impacts.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and revenue recognition requirements, including U.S. GAAP and ASC 606, with the ability to understand how GTN activity impacts revenue recognition and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with generic pharmaceutical and/or hospital injectable businesses, with a strong understanding of GPO contracting, chargeback processes, and the resulting impact on GTN, revenue, and profitability.
- Strong financial modeling and data skills — advanced Excel and comfort working with large transactional datasets.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial impact into clear, actionable guidance for non-finance commercial partners.
- Ability to effectively communicate and successfully achieve all qualification and role requirements whether working in-person within the Lake Forest or NYC facility.
