About the Role

Simbe is seeking a Technical Program Manager to serve as the connective tissue across its autonomous shelf-scanning robot system, Tally. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless integration and execution across hardware, on-robot software, AI models, and cloud systems, ultimately delivering a working robot in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the cross-functional schedule for new Tally generation launches, fleet-wide software/hardware migrations, and large retail rollouts with hard external dates.
  • Define integration checkpoints wherever domains meet, including hardware-to-ROS, CV model deployment, and backend-to-retailer-facing reporting.
  • Determine what 'done' means for integrations, who owns them, and contingency plans for slips.
  • Own end-to-end deployment readiness, ensuring programs are live and stable in stores.
  • Establish visibility into risks before they become crises through dependency mapping and cross-functional reviews.
  • Build a single dependency graph spanning hardware, embedded software, cloud/data platform, and AI/CV for high-priority programs.
  • Identify and document top risks to the nearest hard external date with engineering lead agreement.
  • Stand up a lightweight cross-functional review cadence with functional inputs.

Requirements

  • Hands-on technical experience building, integrating, or debugging complex products spanning physical hardware and robotics software.
  • Depth in at least one of hardware/robotics software (ROS or comparable middleware) or cloud/data platforms, with fluency across others.
  • Comfort driving a room of engineers who do not report to you, guiding decisions and shaping estimates through technical insight and collaborative problem-solving.
  • A track record on programs where hardware or software slips have real-world consequences, customer site impact, or fixed external dates.
  • The instinct to build only as much process as removes friction, creating systems and cadence that make going above and beyond unnecessary.
