About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, disassembling, repairing, and maintaining equipment. This role involves the safe repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems, instrument calibration, and performing mechanical, preventive, and predictive maintenance. The position also participates on the hazmat response team, requiring candidates to be clean-shaven for respirator fit.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical duties such as maintaining/re-building pumps, valves, conveyors, sprockets, gearboxes, etc.
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders.
- Work with industrial electricity (motor controls) to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery including all three phase 480, 240 and other plant systems.
- Calibrate all plant instrumentation in a wide variety of makes and types specifications (i.e., temperature, flow, pH, vacuum, pressure, Foxboro, Honeywell, Micromotion, Fischer, Anderson, etc.).
- Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
- Follow company’s good manufacturing and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping in area (i.e., toolboxes).
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors.
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- At least two (2) years prior maintenance mechanic experience in manufacturing environment.
- Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position.
- Must be clean-shaven for respirator fit.
Skills
- Mechanical repairs including rebuilding of gearboxes and process equipment.
- Troubleshooting, installation, and repair of industrial controls (PLC 5, Control Logix, Devicenet, etc).
- Electrical background in a manufacturing facility.
- AC frequency drives and instrumentation.
- Dairy/Food Manufacturing experience.
- Utility systems, electrical controls, and schematic reading.

Salary/Compensations
- $36.86 per hour
- $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 6:00pm-6:00am
- $1.00 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday
