About the Role

Odin is hiring a Field Implementation Engineer to deploy the company's platform on job sites nationwide. This role involves installing, configuring, and validating hardware and software, collaborating with general contractors, integrators, and site teams. Between deployments, you will work with Engineering on custom builds and R&D for edge compute, power management, and network configuration. This is a hands-on, field-first position requiring 50-70% travel, ideal for problem-solvers on active job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and validate Odin’s hardware and platform at each site, and decommission it when the job is done.
  • Design and test custom edge compute, power management, and network configurations for non-standard sites, and develop repeatable standards.
  • Bring field feedback into product decisions, consult on future hardware and platform features, and test new equipment before production.
  • Coordinate with integrators, electricians, and the GC for equipment installation on schedule without disrupting construction.
  • Diagnose and fix hardware, network, and camera issues on site, and escalate platform issues to Engineering with necessary details.
  • Pre-configure equipment before shipping and train ambassadors and Odin field staff on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Document installations, configurations (including network and power design), and non-standard elements, creating specifications for custom builds.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in field implementation, field engineering, or technical deployment.
  • Proficiency in low-voltage wiring, termination, structured cabling, and field power management (PoE budgeting, UPS, battery backup, temporary or off-grid power).
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, PoE switching, Wi-Fi, subnetting, firewalls, and LTE with failover.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Linux-based edge devices, including command-line diagnostics.
  • Experience building and documenting non-standard hardware, such as custom enclosures or power and network kits.
  • Experience with systems integrators or low-voltage security contractors.
  • Knowledge of enterprise camera systems (e.g. Avigilon, Hanwha, etc.).
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites around trades.
  • Self-directed with the ability to translate field problems into clear requirements for Engineering.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
