About the Role
You will build systems that give defenders an advantage at a scale few engineering teams encounter, helping enterprises identify, test, and deploy patches across hundreds of thousands of code repositories, or assisting security teams in analyzing petabytes of logs for malicious agents or coordinated attacks. You will build tools that customer engineers can trust to support consequential security decisions and work directly with customer security teams, from CISOs to frontline analysts, to evolve defenses and prioritize what to build. You will also help shape OpenAI's future products by identifying gaps and partnering with Research and Product to define, build, and test new capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customer security leaders and OpenAI’s Go-to-Market team to scope engagements, establish responsibilities, and define measurable success criteria.
- Lead technical design and implementation alongside customer engineers, integrating agents into security workflows, establishing access boundaries, and determining actions requiring human review.
- Build evaluations grounded in defender decisions, testing patching agents for fix efficacy and detection systems for speed and false-positive rates.
- Guide production rollout with operating engineers, providing necessary observability and controls for understanding, intervention, and confident expansion.
- Translate successful approaches across deployments into reusable tools and engineering practices for other defenders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping production software.
