About the Role
The San Jose Improv is looking for energetic and outgoing Servers to join the team. Laughter is literally part of the job!
Responsibilities
- Have passion for true hospitality.
- Take care of all guests to create a memorable experience.
- Provide direct service to guests by taking orders for food and beverage and inputting correctly into the POS.
- Make recommendations to guests based on menu knowledge.
- Ensure guests ordering alcohol are of legal age and identify if a guest needs to stop drinking.
- Be attentive to guests needing transportation due to alcohol intake and inform management.
- Partner with bartenders, bussers, and runners to ensure service stations are set-up, maintained, and broken down correctly.
- Provide suggestions on how to enhance service.
- Clean glassware, utensils, and place settings as needed.
Requirements
- Thrive in fast-paced environments with a focus on teamwork.
- Friendly, outgoing, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, especially nights and weekends.
- 1 or more years of experience in restaurants or clubs.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitary procedures.
- Sufficient math ability to accurately count and handle money.
- Sufficient English communication skills for effective guest interactions.
- Consistently demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Able to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift.
