About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Lead secured lending and private credit transactions for lenders, funds, family offices, and development finance institutions.
  • Draft and negotiate credit agreements, security documents, and intercreditor agreements for bespoke deal structures.
  • Collaborate with funds and corporate teams on cross-practice matters.
  • Contribute to the debt practice's strategy, services, and growth.
  • Support existing client relationships and develop new business.

Requirements

  • 10 to 15 years of debt finance experience, including large, mid-sized, or major law firm training.
  • Previous counsel-level or more senior experience, such as counsel, senior counsel, partner, or of counsel.
  • Strong technical experience in secured lending, asset-based lending, private credit, or direct lending, and the ability to run transactions independently.
  • Experience with bespoke cross-border transactions involving New York and London-style deal practices.
  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar; New York admission is preferred.
  • Client relationships, a portable book of business, or demonstrated potential to develop one.
  • Experience advising or working opposite development finance institutions, impact funds, blended finance vehicles, mission-driven lenders, or family offices is valued.
  • Up to one year of in-house legal experience; no in-house experience is also suitable.
  • Interest in building a long-term career with a boutique team.
