About the Role
BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team, contributing to a purpose-driven environment where team members' contributions are valued and opportunities for growth are abundant. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of safety, sanitation, and member satisfaction within our clubs.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties to uphold high standards of safety and sanitation.
- Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance.
- Ensure carts are well-stocked, clean, and in good working order.
- Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
- Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
- Perform wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, and emptying trash receptacles.
- Operate floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers safely and efficiently.
- Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies, ensuring supply areas are organized.
- Perform minor and routine building repairs and report the need for major repairs.
- Adhere to all club policies and procedures.
- Provide prompt and courteous service and assistance to members.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all club areas, including sales floor, offices, restrooms, and outdoor grounds.
- Work in other departments as needed.
- Deliver service excellence through all points of contact.
- Resolve and deescalate member concerns.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for members.
- Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily.
- Maintain visible and accurate signage.
- Ensure the club is clean and organized, inside and out.
- Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
- Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
- Prior retail/wholesale experience preferred.
- May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions.
- Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
Skills
- Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT, is recognized and valued.
