About the Role
We are hiring three experienced, technical product managers to build AMZ Prep's technology. This is a founding product role where you will own a meaningful part of the platform, collaborate closely with engineers and operators, and transform logistics challenges into user-friendly software. You will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of a product area, including strategy, roadmap development, technical collaboration, and accountability for adoption and results.
Responsibilities
- Own discovery, strategy, roadmap, and delivery for your product area from customer conversation through launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Define the product vision and a multi-quarter roadmap tied to revenue, margin, and customer retention, clearly stating what will not be built.
- Collaborate in a product trio with engineering and design, participating in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
- Make trade-offs on scope, build versus buy, and technical debt.
- Write clear requirements, user stories, API and integration specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Design systems connecting warehouse management, order management, transportation, and billing, including various integrations.
- Utilize SQL, product analytics, and customer feedback to set baselines, prioritize, forecast, and measure product success.
- Own KPIs and OKRs.
- Identify practical applications for AI, machine learning, and automation, focusing on accuracy, exception handling, and user control.
- Spend time with operational teams, including on the warehouse floor, to understand process breakdowns and operator needs.
- Manage testing, rollout, documentation, and adoption with operations and customer-facing teams.
- Report on business outcomes such as time saved, cost per order, billing accuracy, SLA performance, and customer adoption.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of product management experience owning software products from discovery through launch and iteration.
- A track record of taking a product from zero to one, or scaling an existing platform, with clear examples of results.
- Strong technical depth, including understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, integrations, data models, and data pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and analytical skills for problem investigation and outcome validation using product analytics and business intelligence tools.
- Experience with agile delivery and operating without a fully formed roadmap or large support team.
- Strong product writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to engineers, operators, and customers.
- Good judgment regarding speed, quality, and operational risk.
- Familiarity with applying AI, machine learning, or automation to operational problems.
- Willingness to spend time with operational teams, including on the warehouse floor.
