About the Role
This role focuses on memory interface signal integrity for Apple SoCs, from package to board, within the team that develops SOCs for Apple's mobile devices.
Responsibilities
- Work on electrical and physical design of memory systems.
- Work on electrical extraction and validation of package and MLB.
- Collaborate with circuit and controller teams to optimize memory system design.
- Perform SI and PI modeling, simulation, and characterization of memory interfaces.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate signal and power integrity.
- Debug and improve product yield in conjunction with product and system engineering teams.
Requirements
- Prior design and modeling experience with DDR or LPDDR interfaces are a must-have.
- Familiarity with signal and power integrity issues of memory interfaces.
- Prior experience with actual product package/board design and analysis.
- Experience with PI/SI methodology development.
- Experience with lab correlation/validation of simulation results.
- Familiarity with lab equipment, such as: VNA, TDR, real-time scope, spectrum analyzer, etc.
- Strong fundamentals in 3D/2D EM simulation tools and transmission line theory.
- Proficient in Python with strong foundational coding skills.
- Expertise in leveraging generative AI coding assistants to enhance productivity.
