About the Role
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk is responsible for maintaining the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, rotation, and product integrity. This role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while delivering excellent service to Members. The Dairy & Freezer Clerk plays an essential role in keeping the department organized and efficient, contributing to the overall success of the perishables team.
Responsibilities
- Ensure planogram integrity in dairy and freezer
- Maintain cold chain and in-stock accuracy
- Execute proper product rotation
- Conduct quality and date checks
- Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
- Support product availability
- Ensure accurate signage and pricing
- Support seasonal merchandising initiatives
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations preferred
- Basic knowledge of cold chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements
- Strong attention to detail with organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Email) preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance
- Exposure to temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen/dairy-related allergens
