About the Role

Redwood Finance Automation Solution Designer to own the solution design for automating finance operations on Redwood Finance Automation. This involves working with finance process owners to understand current processes, define automation opportunities, and create a design for the engineering team. You will guide the design through build, testing, and go-live, ensuring it meets requirements and stands up to audit.

Responsibilities

Own the solution design for finance automation.
Work with finance process owners to understand current close processes.
Decide what to automate and in what order.
Set out a design for the engineering team to build.
Stay with the design through build, testing, and go-live.
Make calls on whether the designed solution meets the reality.
Conduct current-state analysis of record-to-report processes.
Develop target automation designs for close, reconciliation, journals, and intercompany processes.
Make decisions on standard Redwood capability versus justified extensions.
Design the integration with SAP S/4HANA or ECC and other source systems.
Design balance sheet auto-certification rules, controls, approvals, and audit trails.
Provide guidance to engineers during build and review their deliverables against the design.
Develop a test strategy and acceptance criteria with finance users.
Create a roadmap for future automation waves.

Requirements

Solution design ownership on at least one live Redwood Finance Automation (RunMyFinance) implementation.
Experience running design workshops and writing the design yourself.
8 or more years in finance transformation, finance systems, or record-to-report process design.
Working understanding of SAP FI/CO, or the Oracle equivalent.
Understanding of how close and reconciliation data flows between the ERP and the automation layer.
Experience running workshops with finance users and translating their input into a buildable and testable design.
Ability to work with senior finance stakeholders and defend design decisions.
Hands-on build experience on Redwood is useful but not essential.
Experience with BlackLine, Trintech, or SAP Advanced Financial Closing is useful but not essential.
A finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) is useful but not essential.
Experience in financial services or another regulated industry, including work under SOX or similar audit controls, is useful but not essential.
