About the Role
Austin PBS, KLRU-TV is seeking a Production Intern to support production in a fast-paced environment. Interns will assist staff with productions, gaining a full understanding of television production under the supervision of the VP of Production and Production Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist production staff in various aspects of field production, including shoots, logging video files, and internet research.
- Attend assigned studio and field productions when available.
- Develop skills to assist in producing segments, including field producing, logging, and editing.
- Provide support for in-studio productions and onsite events.
- Coordinate pre- and post-production activities.
- Conduct research and story development.
- Participate in studio production.
- Participate in field production.
- Perform video logging and editing.
Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate student actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full internship duration.
- Must be available for a minimum of 13 weeks.
- Must be comfortable working individually and as part of a team.
- Experience handling and organizing production gear is preferred but not required.
Skills
- Strong interest in broadcast and digital media
- Familiarity with Austin PBS shows
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (G Suite)
- Excellent research skills
