About the Role
Personal Touch Food Service is seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Cook to join our team at Panama Central School. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, has a passion for food service, and values serving nutritious meals to students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Cook in preparing and serving meals in accordance with established menus and nutritional guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and serving areas.
- Help with inventory, food storage, and restocking of supplies.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
- Support meal service in a busy, student-centered cafeteria environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Cook or Food Service Manager.
Requirements
- Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred, especially in a school or institutional setting.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a noisy, fast-paced school cafeteria environment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well in a team.
- A valid ServSafe certification is a plus or willingness to obtain.
