About the Role
Personal Touch Food Service has an immediate opening for a cashier in a school setting. The Cashier is responsible for accurately accounting for the collection of monies in payment of food products and meal plans.
Responsibilities
- Verify the cash drawer amount at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Check daily specials or price changes with the Unit/Food Service Manager.
- Accurately ring all food and beverage items into the register.
- Receive payments from customers and count back correct change.
- Count money and total checks in the cash drawer at shift end.
- Assist with food service tasks including restocking items, cleaning tables and equipment, and other assigned duties.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the food service area.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies in the cash drawer to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of service areas, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Customer service skills necessary.
- Must possess basic math skills, ability to calculate production and recipes as required for guest counts.
- Must be able to work at a moderate to fast pace.
- Must pass NYS fingerprinting.
- Assume other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and Cook Manager.
