About the Role
The Innovation and Development Center (IDC) builds custom software using modern technologies to solve complex business problems for clients. We believe the best products and services are realized by knowledgeable, tight-knit teams aligned to a shared purpose and understanding.
Responsibilities
- Architect, provision, and maintain modular AWS infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK, establishing reusable modules and enforcing policy-as-code across multiple environments.
- Design, build, and maintain automated delivery pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, integrated with GitOps engines for zero-downtime, progressive rollouts.
- Manage production-grade containerized workloads on Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) or Amazon ECS, optimizing container image builds, build caching, and cluster resource scaling.
- Instrument system-wide observability using OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, or AWS CloudWatch, defining and tracking SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and establishing actionable alerting pipelines.
- Integrate automated vulnerability scanning into CI/CD pipelines and manage centralized identity, role-based access controls, and secrets management.
- Develop custom automation scripts and micro-tools using Python (boto3) or Go to eliminate manual toil, support automated backups, and validate disaster recovery procedures.
- Partner with engineering teams to monitor cloud consumption, optimize resource allocation, and implement automated scaling policies to maintain cost-efficient infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade systems on AWS (VPC, IAM, EKS/ECS, RDS, S3, EventBridge).
- Deep operational experience with Terraform (state management, module design) or AWS CDK.
- Strong background in Docker containerization and hands-on operational experience with Kubernetes (EKS) or AWS ECS, including Helm templating.
- Extensive experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) with automated testing, linting, security scanning, and artifact management.
- Proficiency in Python (including AWS SDK/boto3) or Go, alongside Linux shell scripting (Bash).
- Proven experience implementing logging, metrics, and tracing platforms and designing structured on-call incident responses.
