About the Role

Empire Merchants North is seeking a high energy, motivated Night Warehouse Supervisor for its Lyons, NY Distribution Center. This role strives to achieve production and distribution objectives through coaching and effective supervision, ensuring accurate, on-time, and damage-free product movement.

Responsibilities

Achieve production and distribution objectives using supervisory methods and coaching techniques.
Oversee warehouse training and develop personnel for accurate, on-time, and damage-free product shipment.
Build a team environment of well-trained employees.
Employ excellent communication skills to facilitate completion of night shift job duties.
Follow and promote accepted safety practices to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure proper truck loading and control of breakage and damaged product.
Learn processes and serve as a backup to night managers for shift production setup, including waving, label creation, job assignment, and invoicing.
Multi-task and stay on top of complex processes with large amounts of data.
Maintain composure and focus under stress.
Recognize problems early, communicate, and troubleshoot to resolve them.
Keep night management apprised of situations and contact technical support when necessary.
Supervise warehouse union employees, understanding the Collective Bargaining Unit Contract.
Provide staff coaching for improvement and praise for good work.
Ensure accurate order picking and proper truck loading with hourly employees.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Direct workflow efficiently and professionally.
Provide effective leadership, foster a positive team environment, and evaluate the department.
Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and laws.
Train employees, plan, assign, and direct work.
Recognize, reward, and coach employees.
Address complaints and resolve problems.

Requirements

Must be able to multi-task and stay on top of highly complex processes with a large amount of data.
Must be able to maintain composure and stay focused in times of stress.
Must be able to recognize problems at an early stage and be able to communicate and trouble shoot to resolve the problems.
Must possess good communication skills to keep night management fully apprised of situations that arise.
Working knowledge and a thorough understanding of the Collective Bargaining Unit Contract is required.
Must have knowledge of SAP, Lucas, and all warehouse management systems.
Must comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
