About the Role

The Senior Linux & Cloud Administrator is responsible for the 24x7 availability of SAP systems running in SAP PCO, acting as a primary technical owner and strategic advisor for customer cloud landscapes. This role drives stability, optimization, and continuous improvement across SAP Global Cloud Operations, ensuring proactive risk management, architectural guidance, and end-to-end technical governance.

Responsibilities

Independently own the end-to-end technical health of customer cloud landscapes.
Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture and technology roadmaps.
Identify risks early and lead resolution of critical issues.
Establish and enforce technical governance.
Oversee lifecycle events.
Support SAP S/4HANA and Clean Core adoption.
Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure stability, performance, scalability, and compliance of customer cloud landscapes.
Oversee key lifecycle events including upgrades, migrations, and DR testing.
Respond, troubleshoot and address alerts & incidents in the Linux OS or infra layer – VMWare/ Azure/ AWS/ GCP/IBM Cloud/Ali Cloud/BareMetal.
Act as a L3/L4 escalation point for productive issues.
Follow change management processes during service request execution.
Seek opportunities to streamline standard operating procedures through automation.
Conceptual design, configuration and administration of cloud platform based on Linux operating systems in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Ali Cloud as well as in SAP data centers.
Support standardization and simplification of server operations using software tools and automation.
Focus on stability and reliability of the environment to run business-critical systems of our customers.

Requirements

8+ years of related professional experience.
Advanced technical background of Linux based server operating systems.
Applicable experience with OS operation, upgrades and security patching.
Advanced expertise in Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Ali Cloud.
Advanced knowledge in Hyperscalers network topics, including VPN, VPC, NAT gateways, and Security groups.
Proficient in handling infrastructure topics like DNS, LDAP, NTP, Proxy etc.
Good understanding of IT security, OS hardening.
Experience in Scripting (e.g., Shell, Python, Go, etc).
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible.
Ability to create good documentation for junior colleagues to implement technical plans as per customer requirements.
Experience with server operations in large environments and in public clouds – Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud, Ali Cloud.
Fluency in English language.
Expert Linux Administrator.
Expert in at least one of the public cloud administrations – Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud, Ali Cloud.
Ability to continuously acquire new knowledge in an independent and forward-thinking way.
Good analytical and solution-oriented thinking.
Very good communication and networking skills.
Robust customer service focus.
Very good English language skills.
Must feel comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic and flexible environment.
Operate successfully in a global 24x7 International environment.
