About the Role
As a Water Engineering Intern at HR Green, you will work alongside experienced engineers on projects that help communities manage, protect, and improve their water resources. You will gain experience in Water Resources or Water/Wastewater, contributing to projects involving stormwater, flooding, drainage, streams, and the planning and design of systems for clean water delivery and wastewater treatment.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, and analysis of water infrastructure projects.
- Assist with data collection, engineering calculations, modeling, drawings, reports, and project documentation.
- Gain exposure to stormwater and flood reduction, pipelines, pumping stations, treatment facilities, streams, and drainage systems.
- Participate in field visits and project meetings.
- Work alongside engineers and design professionals while building technical skills and understanding of water engineering.
- Follow a structured intern learning curriculum.
- Connect with a mentor and experienced professionals invested in your development.
- Participate in intern roundtables focused on engineering, consulting, professional development, and career.
- Learn about other HR Green business units and shadow other teams when opportunities are available.
- Continue developing skills through LinkedIn Learning and other training resources.
- Build relationships with interns, engineers, and leaders across HR Green.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Available to work full time during the Summer 2027 internship program, beginning between mid May and early June and ending in early August.
- Able to participate in office and field work based on project needs.
