About the Role

Base is seeking a Test Systems Technician to construct the test infrastructure necessary for shipping new hardware and software with confidence. This role involves transforming engineering designs into physical test benches and fixtures, ranging from low-voltage signal harnesses to 240/480V power circuits, engineered for continuous operation. The technician will ensure efficient replication of test stations through thorough documentation and collaborate with engineering on fabrication decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and wire test benches and fixtures, from signal-level harnesses to 240/480V power circuits
  • Document every build to enable quick replication of stations as capacity increases
  • Design and fabricate enclosures, mounting brackets, and racking systems for continuous, 24/7 operation
  • Determine when to fabricate parts in-house versus outsourcing, ensuring quality in either case
  • Maintain test systems to be ready for engineering and automated testing, 24/7
  • Adhere to wiring schematics and meet workmanship, safety, and inspection standards for both low-voltage and high-voltage work

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience wiring harnesses, including cutting, stripping, labeling, and documenting for replication
  • Experience building both low-voltage signal harnesses from schematics and 240/480V power circuits
  • Experience designing or fabricating enclosures, mounting brackets, or racking systems
  • Proficiency with power tools and various fabrication equipment
  • A team-first mentality and goal-oriented drive, taking initiative and communicating priorities
  • 1-3 years in electrical work, fabrication, motorsports, aerospace, or a similar hands-on technical role (apprenticeships and trade training are applicable)
