About the Role

The Game Day Operator runs the court and owns the welcome. On game night you run the score, the clock and the BallerTV stream, and you are the person athletes see when they walk in, between games and on their way out. Your Game Day Lead sets your seat each night: the score table, check-in, or the floor helping set the gym. Whatever the seat, the job is the same: every game accurate, on time and on stream, and every athlete leaving feeling the night was built for them. Run a court to the Brodie Standard and this role is a path into floor leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Run the score table, ensuring accuracy on the scoreboard, BallerTV iPad, and scoresheet.
  • Manage the shot clock, team fouls, timeouts, and possession arrow according to timing rules.
  • Sound the horn for substitutions and ensure correct jersey numbers are recorded.
  • Set up and maintain the BallerTV stream, ensuring it is live before tip-off and throughout the game.
  • Troubleshoot stream issues and escalate to the Game Day Lead if necessary.
  • Greet athletes at check-in, process check-ins, distribute jerseys, and answer questions.
  • Welcome teams before, between, and after games, engaging with players and fans.
  • Direct drop-in players and spectators to the League Manager.
  • Ensure games start on time, allowing at least five minutes for warm-ups.
  • Verify scoresheets for overdue balances and roster compliance.
  • Assist with gym setup, including courts, score tables, check-in areas, and brand fixtures.
  • Break down the gym at the end of the night, returning equipment and scoresheets.
  • Rotate between score table, check-in, and floor duties as assigned by the Game Day Lead.
  • Stop the clock and call the Game Day Lead for disputed scores, equipment failures, ejections, or roster issues.
  • Stop games and immediately contact the League Manager for injuries, fights, or emergencies.
  • Adhere to the Brodie Standard, including uniform, punctuality, and professional conduct.
  • Remain neutral during play, keep personal phones away, and complete all required training.

Requirements

  • Experience in a customer-facing, fast-paced setting (hospitality, retail, events, fitness, or rec sports).
  • Scorekeeping, timekeeping, refereeing, or event staffing experience is a strong asset.
  • A strong understanding of basketball, including rules and game flow.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy under pressure during close games.
  • Comfortable starting conversations and remembering names.
  • Proficiency with technology, including tablets, phones, and streaming apps.
  • Availability for game nights (approximately 6pm to midnight, including weekends).
  • Must be on-site for the full shift and have reliable transportation.
