About the Role
Woven Capital, Toyota's growth-stage venture capital arm, seeks an experienced Partner/Principal in London to shape the EMEA investment strategy, deepen relationships, and establish Woven Capital's presence in the region. The role involves leading investments end-to-end, conducting due diligence, fostering collaboration with business units, and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
- Source and develop investment opportunities by building and leveraging referral networks and relationships.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and industry leaders.
- Lead investment due diligence through market research and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop financial models and investment analyses, including valuations, capital structures, returns, and exit scenarios.
- Structure and negotiate transactions, including drafting and reviewing term sheets and negotiating deal terms.
- Develop investment recommendations by preparing and presenting investment memos to the Investment Committee.
- Drive portfolio value creation through active monitoring, board participation, advising on strategy, and facilitating partnerships with Toyota Group companies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of investment experience in venture capital, corporate venture capital, or private equity, with a strong track record of sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a strong analytical foundation (finance, business, economics, engineering, science, or relevant discipline preferred).
- Natural collaborator and self-starter who takes ownership, demonstrates strong leadership, and drives initiatives to successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, build alignment, and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across Toyota and its ecosystem, translating them into strategic opportunities and business outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and tailor messages.
- Track record of hiring, developing, and mentoring talent, leading teams, and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to navigate cultural, linguistic, and organizational differences and drive initiatives across global teams.
