About the Role
Seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
- Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
- Regularly empty trash receptacles in all designated areas.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Notify lead cleaner or manager of needed repairs or additions to building systems.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
- Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
- Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
- Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
- Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Perform incidental seasonal tasks such as sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, and removing snow.
- Maintain restroom cleanliness.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- One year of prior similar work experience is preferred.
