About the Role
We are seeking an Event Engineer to support the delivery of world-class live sports broadcasting and transmission services for major sporting events globally. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring extensive travel, practical technical expertise, and a strong understanding of broadcast technology. You will deploy, test, and support transmission and connectivity solutions on-site at live sporting events, ensuring high-quality broadcast delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and support broadcast transmission infrastructure at live sporting events
- Install, configure, and test fibre, network, and video transmission equipment
- Rack and commission technical equipment both in-house and on-site
- Build, test, and repair engineering cabling as required
- Configure and support video encoding and decoding solutions
- Troubleshoot broadcast, transmission, and connectivity issues under live event conditions
- Work closely with customers, broadcasters, and production teams
- Support IP-based video contribution and distribution workflows
- Prepare and test equipment prior to deployment
Requirements
- Live broadcast engineering experience
- Broadcast transmission experience
- Fibre connectivity experience
- Knowledge of video encoding and decoding
- Understanding of IP networking fundamentals
- Practical engineering experience including rack builds, cabling, and equipment installation
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Customer-facing experience
- Ability to travel internationally for approximately 70% of the year
- Ability to work unsociable and extended hours as required to cover sporting events
