About the Role
As a software sustainment engineer, you will play a pivotal role in an application’s functional life, using operations and maintenance skills to ensure smooth operations. You will apply your knowledge to clients’ challenges and their legacy enterprise systems, supporting a team of professionals to maintain applications and keep systems working. You will continuously enhance and maintain applications, troubleshoot operational issues, and upgrade systems to meet security requirements. You will also learn how to advise clients on modernizing existing systems and help secure crucial systems.

Requirements
- Experience with programming languages, including Java, JavaScript, C, C++, Assembly, Python, Perl, R, or Bash
- Experience with machine learning, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms in academic or internship environments
- Experience with conducting research and writing software
- Ability to produce technical documentation and create design artifacts
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in a Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field by Winter 2026 or Summer 2027
