About the Role
This supervised position will allow a college student seeking a career in the power industry to apply and enhance their knowledge of power plant operations. Interns will work on specific projects to gain real-world, hands-on experience independently under an assigned supervisor and technical mentor.
Responsibilities
- Utilize plant data systems to access equipment and performance reliability.
- Update maintenance documentation and work management systems.
- Assist plant staff with special projects as needed.
- Enter plant asset information into Maximo.
- Report to the site Operations Manager and take day-to-day instructions, both written and verbal.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
- Junior standing, preferred.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future for any company.
- Willingness to work outdoors, in field locations, in a "hands on" environment.
- Willingness to adhere to plant safety standards, procedures, and practices.
- Good comprehension of basic engineering practices.
- Good problem solving and analytical ability.
- Strong computer skills especially in the use of spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organization skills and attention to details are essential.
- Must be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others in a dynamic environment.
- Must be able to self-start and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
