About the Role
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Food Service Director (FSD) for a premier rehabilitative therapy and long-term care facility in Mount Vernon, NY. This leadership role oversees daily dietary operations to ensure high-quality nutritional care for patients and residents.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily food service activities, including food preparation, menu planning, and inventory control.
- Supervise and motivate the food service team to maintain high standards in food preparation and customer service.
- Partner with dietary and medical staff to develop menus and execute specialized diet plans.
- Ensure strict adherence to local and state health codes, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards.
- Coordinate with nursing and therapy teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of meal counts, inventory levels, and resident feedback.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Food Service Director or in a similar leadership role.
- Proven leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and local/state health regulations.
- Proficient in inventory control, menu planning, and documentation.
