About the Role
A boutique law firm in Garden City, NY is seeking a driven and talented full-time associate attorney with comprehensive civil litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team. Experience handling commercial, contractual, and/or real estate disputes is preferred. This is an exciting opportunity to sharpen litigation skills, work on meaningful cases, and grow your career alongside experienced legal professionals in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and litigate civil cases in a variety of legal matters
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions, client interviews, and witness examinations
- Perform legal research and case analysis to develop effective litigation strategies
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and oral arguments
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex litigation matters
- Maintain accurate and current billing records
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with New York state and/or federal court procedures
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player
- Interested in developing business
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and case management software
