About the Role

This position is focused on the setup and operation of a multi-spindle, multi-turret lathe, applying inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process and collaborating with colleagues to maximize productivity in precision manufacturing for aerospace and power generation customers.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
Install fixtures and set work offsets.
Prepare and set tools needed for machining operations using an offline tool pre-setter.
Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends; adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
Run multiple machine centers as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be a US Person or eligible to obtain required export authorization.
Experience in set-up and operation of multi axis CNC machinery: 3 axis lathes minimum; 4/5 axis horizontal mills and pallet line experience a plus.
Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
Solid understanding of G-code.
Experience with low volume, high mix production a plus.
Ability to sit or stand as needed.
May require frequent walking primarily on a level surface.
May require reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move materials throughout the workday.
Proper lifting techniques required.
May include lifting up to 25 pounds.
May include frequent pulling, pushing, and grasping.
Must use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and proper footwear in designated areas.
