About the Role

This role is primarily focused on procurement, ensuring materials and components are sourced efficiently, at the right cost, and on time. Working closely with inventory and operations teams, you'll translate stock needs into supplier orders, manage supplier relationships, and keep the supply pipeline running smoothly. This is a commercially-minded role for someone who thrives on negotiation, planning, and keeping things moving.

Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and purchase high-quality materials and components within budget, using approved supplier lists and MRP systems
  • Raise and manage purchase orders from creation through to delivery, maintaining accurate records at every stage
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from both new and existing suppliers, driving value and quality
  • Monitor supplier performance against lead times and delivery schedules; chase ETAs proactively to prevent supply gaps
  • Onboard and manage supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, lead times, and commercial agreements
  • Identify and develop alternative suppliers to reduce risk and support cost-saving initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with the Inventory Controller to align purchasing decisions with real-time stock levels and consumption trends
  • Prepare and maintain supply plans based on demand forecasts and operational requirements
  • Track slow-moving stock and optimise re-order points to prevent both shortages and overstock
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing data, and supplier information to support forecasting
  • Support invoice control, documentation, and any tender processes as required
  • Work cross-functionally with warehouse and operations teams to minimise supply chain disruption

Requirements

  • 1-2 years in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination role
  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of building effective supplier relationships
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
