About the Role

You will have disciplinary and technical responsibility for a highly motivated team of firmware developers at our Berlin location. In addition to leadership, you will be responsible for strategic IT and infrastructure tasks for development environments and actively shape tool harmonization within our engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee central IT topics at the Berlin site, coordinating closely with relevant partners (e.g., Cybersecurity, site management) to ensure an efficient working environment in project teams.
  • Manage the provision and further development of internal IT infrastructure for software and firmware development (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, build servers, version control, test frameworks, containerization).
  • Identify potential for efficiency improvements in the engineering process and be an active driver for digitalization, the introduction of modern DevOps practices, and the integration of AI-supported development tools.
  • Strategically advance technology and method competencies in embedded software, firmware, and modern application software.
  • Collaborate closely with project, product, and IT managers to efficiently plan resources, balance workloads, and constructively moderate goal conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security regulations, compliance guidelines, and software quality standards within your area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
  • Many years of professional experience in firmware development and initial leadership experience (e.g., as Technical Lead, Team Lead, or in a comparable disciplinary/agile leadership role).
  • Sound IT & infrastructure know-how, with practical experience in managing development IT, toolchains, and DevOps environments (e.g., GitLab/GitHub, Docker, Linux server infrastructures).
  • Strong understanding of agile and matrix-based organizational structures, with the ability to successfully balance interests between different stakeholders (line, project, IT/infrastructure).
  • Solid know-how in modern programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python) and hardware-related development.
  • Practical experience with AI requirements, machine learning projects, or the use of LLMs/AI tools in the software industry.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical and conceptual thinking, and high empathy.
  • High enthusiasm for technological trends and the ability to lead teams inspiringly and structurally through transformation processes.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
