About the Role
The Stihl Service Tech will assist customers with purchasing, servicing, training, and repairing Stihl-related products. This role also involves participating in all aspects of floor sales.
Responsibilities
- Greets and interacts with customers.
- Provides service, maintenance, and repairs for all Stihl-related products.
- Determines part(s) needed, estimates labor, and determines warranty coverage.
- Provides regular updates to customers on service and repair status.
- Maintains a safe, secure, clean, and well-organized work environment.
- Provides training for store personnel on product technical knowledge.
- Consults with customers to understand needs and preferences.
- Explains available merchandise, selecting and suggesting options.
- Emphasizes product features and warranty information, quotes prices, and prepares sales orders.
- Retrieves merchandise and places special orders.
- Builds and maintains customer relationships by entering sales data into a computer database.
- Assists customers in resolving complaints, escalating to management when appropriate.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with products or services.
- Operates the cash register accurately.
- Accepts payments for purchased items.
- Processes returns and exchanges according to store policy.
- Assists with stocking and restocking products, and maintaining store appearance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of on-the-job training, including levels 1 and 2 of positional training.
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.
- Ability to quickly move, grasp, or manipulate objects for equipment operation/repair.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.

Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals.
- Ability to plan assembly or building operations.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Basic and intermediate knowledge of building products.
- Knowledgeable about the company’s products and services.
- Knowledgeable about customer-related policies.
