About the Role
This trainee role is responsible for assisting in maintaining the safety and security of Rochester Regional Health facilities under supervision. The trainee will learn and demonstrate the duties of a full security officer, including performing patrols, answering calls, conducting investigations, and responding to emergencies, with an emphasis on customer service and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Complete required security training, certifications, and shadowing to learn hospital policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Assist with patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and emergency drills while gaining hands-on experience.
- Identify and report hazards, participate in fire safety checks, and support patient and visitor safety initiatives.
- Prepare clear, accurate incident and activity reports while learning investigatory and documentation practices.
- Uphold hospital values, demonstrate integrity, and work collaboratively under guidance to develop into a fully independent Security Officer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NYS Security Guard License
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
