About the Role

As an expert in data and analytics, this role will be responsible for working with the business to understand their strategy and plans, and provide relevant and impactful data analytics and insights. You will proactively input on maturing our data capability by bringing in new and innovative approaches, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal person for this role thrives in fast-paced environments with high levels of empowerment, and is passionate and determined to make a difference. Responsibilities

Taking ownership of complex business challenges, owning them end to end with minimal support.
Consulting with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and determine the best data/analytics approach, delivering value from data in a clear and actionable manner.
Operating as a trusted data and analytics expert, knowing available data, and innovating on new analytical techniques to identify and share opportunities to advance data capability.
Delivering value and impact to senior stakeholders and various forums using excellent storytelling and visualization techniques in an engaging and simple manner.
Co-leading learning and development plans across the data community, and mentoring junior members.
Updating existing documentation, including data catalog and code libraries, sharing knowledge and continuously growing best practice.
Working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ownership and empowerment within a strong growth culture.
Collaborating across multi-skilled cross-functional teams and external partners, shaping technical direction, design approaches, and delivery patterns for consistent, scalable outcomes.

Requirements

Proven excellent experience as a principal/senior data analyst, ideally 7+ years.
Excellent problem-solving skills and high levels of curiosity.
Advanced SQL and Python skills.
Strong experience with data visualization tools.
Experience working with cloud platforms to build data pipelines.
Experience with Git, or similar, using branches and pull requests for collaborative development.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage non-technical audiences.
Ability to drive change and deliver value from data.
Experience with Ofgem's Retail Market Review (RMR).
Knowledge of TIL and TCR.
Experience steering data teams through Project Nexus.
Experience rebuilding legacy UK Link code.
Experience making the change to rolling monthly AQs.
Experience with SMETS1 and SMETS2 rollouts.
Fluency in DUIS.
Passion for the energy industry transformation and understanding of Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) opportunities.
