About the Role
Utility Operator is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth within the plant. This role is physically demanding but rewarding, offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate flaker in an efficient and safe manner.
- Package and store products in the proper area.
- Pickup resin from floor or pans and clean floor and pans.
- Weigh and store resin in assigned area.
- Assist in charging kettles (liquid or solids) under direction.
- Assist in dumping, chipping, and preparing kettles for the next batch.
- Perform yard cleanup.
- Transfer powdered resin from fiber drums to bags.
- Operate crusher equipment, dumping and charging into bags or drums.
- Obtain packing materials and transport full packages to shipping or designated area.
- Assist grinder operator as needed.
- Perform duties of shipper and receiver when assigned to the shipping department.
- Perform required labor duties.
- Prevent and contain chemical spills to ensure employee safety and environmental protection.
- Operate forklift as instructed or required.
- Perform supplemental duties using common skills during normal job functions.
- Perform job functions and classifications for which qualified.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including hazardous material handling.
- Adhere to all quality regulations and requirements.
Requirements
- Must be physically able to perform job duties.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be able to use hand tools and jackhammer.
- Must be able to shovel, push, and pull various non-powered material handling equipment.
- Must be able to operate valves.
- Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to arrive on time and work scheduled shifts.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal direction.

- $24.32/hr. starting rate
- $27.91/hr. after 1 year
- At least $31.94/hr. after 2 years
- Guaranteed annual pay increases
- 3.5% shift differential on base rate for overtime hours
