About the Role

Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their lives best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined, and now, can't imagine living without.

Responsibilities

  • Generate block and chip-level specifications, defining and documenting functional and performance requirements.
  • Design complex analog and mixed-signal circuits at the transistor level using Virtuoso.
  • Conduct block-level simulations and analyses to verify circuit functionality and performance.
  • Design clock distribution circuits for high-speed clock delivery.
  • Design Clock Data Recovery (CDR) circuits using SERDES systems.
  • Investigate power-efficient clocking architectures to reduce chip power consumption.
  • Design and optimize Duty Cycle Correctors (DCC) and Phase Interpolators (PI).
  • Design a 100MHz reference clock receiver from the pad to the PLL.
  • Test chips under various process, temperature, and voltage conditions for robustness.
  • Perform post-silicon validation and testing using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.

Requirements

  • Design and analyze high-speed analog and mixed-signal building blocks including PLL, LDO, ADC, DAC and Phase-Interpolator.
  • Leverage end-to-end SERDES systems including TX/RX design and channel characteristics and equalization techniques.
  • Utilize RTL/Verilog modeling to develop models for mixed-signal blocks for system-level design verification.
  • Model using MATLAB for performance analysis of SERDES (jitter tolerance, equalization analysis).
  • Utilize design validation tools including EMIR, static timing analysis, and DFT.
  • Use Python and Shell scripting to automate design simulations and for data analysis.
  • Utilize layout techniques for analog and high-speed circuits including matching and noise reduction.
  • Leverage signal processing for design and analysis including filtering, equalization, and spectral analysis.
