About the Role
As a Shift Engineer at The Chancery Rosewood, you will be a reliable and technically capable presence, responding to maintenance requirements, guest requests, and engineering emergencies across your designated shift. You will help protect hotel assets, maintain guest comfort, and ensure engineering systems operate safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across guest bedrooms, public areas, plant and machinery.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, maintenance issues, and engineering emergencies.
- Work across multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air conditioning, ELV systems, carpentry, and decorating.
- Monitor Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems and respond appropriately to alerts or emergencies.
- Maintain clear communication with the Engineering team and other hotel departments.
- Support an efficient and safe operation by controlling wastage, conserving utilities, and complying with health and safety policies.
Requirements
- Technical capability to work across a range of engineering disciplines.
- Ability to approach varied maintenance requirements with confidence and attention to detail.
- Comfort in responding to engineering issues and emergencies calmly, safely, and professionally.
- Understanding of Fire Alarm, Life Safety, and health and safety procedures.
- Clear communication and collaborative work style.
- Pride in the quality of work and motivation to continuously develop technical knowledge.
- Flexibility and reliability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
