About the Role

Responsible for the general running of your own department in conjunction with the Merchandiser. Reporting directly into the Merchandiser/Head of Merchandise, working very closely alongside the Buyer in order to maximise profits where possible. Managing the performance of the range and analysing.

Responsibilities

Evaluate performance and interpret the overall business strategy to create a strategic view of the product area.
Liaise with buyers regarding cut offs/deadlines.
Maintain knowledge of customer needs, the market, and competition.
Stay updated on Brand strategies and adjust planning requirements accordingly.
Provide historical sales information for product/brand performance.
Develop range plans considering sales, space, ROS, line life, and density targets.
Adapt range plans for e-commerce, ROI, and store clusters.
Identify risks and opportunities.
Determine and implement strategies for sales, stockturn, end of season stocks, and profit goals.
Prepare Lessons Learnt to impact Buying cut offs.
Determine the optimal size planning strategy for Brands.
Optimize profit and limit risk by managing sales performance across product and channel hierarchies.
Develop and communicate supplier/Brand business plans and forecasts.
React quickly to new information and update OTB plans.
Communicate trading patterns at all hierarchy levels and by store type.
Influence and deliver brand objectives for stock inventory.
Ensure control of order books and relevant websites.
Provide visibility of OTB positions to the Buying team.
Manage stock balance between replenishment and newness.
Plan and manage correct options for store linear space.
Ensure stock flows effectively into the business and across sales channels.
Liaise with logistics to ensure accurate intake forecasts and meet stock targets.
Ensure merchandising actions within the Trading Calendar are carried out accurately and timely.
Plan, implement, and analyze promotions to recommend future events.
Maintain a commercial and customer focus in all activities and decisions.
Set up and maintain seasonal and event analysis & reporting.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the schuh customer.
Keep abreast of sales performance and understand drivers behind best and worst sellers.
Demonstrate a passion for products and awareness of market trends.
Regularly visit schuh stores, concessions, and online to highlight ideas, opportunities, or concerns.
Demonstrate outstanding knowledge of competitor activities.
Understand and comply with health and safety rules and anti-bribery policy.
Take responsibility for continually improving own performance.
Arrange regular performance reviews with manager.
Be proactive in driving own personal development.

Requirements

Highly numerate and analytical.
Competent user of advanced excel, confident in use of data and standard retail systems.
Excellent time management and communication skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
