About the Role

The Goddard School® of Greenpoint is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. As a Lead Teacher, you will help create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive using our proprietary Wonder of Learning® curriculum.

Responsibilities

Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using Goddard’s Wonder of Learning® curriculum.
Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Create engaging activities that support cognitive, physical, and language development.
Balance structured teaching and play-based learning.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities.
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold health and safety standards, licensing regulations and ensure their well-being.
Participate actively in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Observe, assess and document children’s learning and development to inform activities and share insights with families.
Collaborate with school leadership and team members to support classroom quality and school-wide initiatives.

Requirements

Must have the appropriate qualifications for the preschool license.
Experience working with 3 year olds (strong preference).
Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning, and developmentally appropriate practice.
Ability to create engaging lesson plans and manage a classroom with confidence and care.
Ability to utilize technology to track attendance, lesson plans, and upload pictures and videos on a timely basis.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to meet all licensing, health, and safety requirements for the role.
