About the Role
The Marine & Energy Liability team is seeking an Assistant Underwriter in their London office. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a global community of optimists and problem-solvers, contributing to a company that empowers individuals to seize opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Receive new business & renewal submissions from Underwriters, and log, process, sanction screen and enter them into the rater.
- Support Underwriters in the renewing of policies, including claims analysis and producing M&E Liabs reports via IT platforms.
- Develop an understanding of the M&E Liabs product and its product coverage across competitor wordings.
- Produce specific reports or management information upon request from Underwriters or Managers.
- Develop positive relationships with various Markel teams, including premium processing, sanctions, compliance, and Underwriting Oversight.
- Handle and maintain central documents and spreadsheets essential for the team's daily operations.
- Keep abreast of M&E Liabs product development and knowledge.
- Ensure continuous professional development is undertaken.
- Produce Markel M&E Liabs policy documentation, including endorsements, with Underwriter guidance.
