About the Role
BluePearl Pet Hospital is opening a new specialty and emergency hospital in South Austin, TX, and is seeking an exceptional Surgery Veterinary Technician to join their founding team. This role offers the opportunity to help build the hospital's culture and workflows from the ground up, working in a collaborative environment focused on exceptional patient care and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
- Place peripheral IV catheters and manage intravenous fluid therapy.
- Perform patient physical assessments and recognize abnormal findings.
- Monitor anesthesia equipment and patient vital signs throughout procedures.
- Prepare surgical suites and maintain strict sterile technique.
- Assist surgeons during procedures while anticipating patient and team needs.
- Perform medical calculations and administer medications accurately.
- Communicate with clients regarding post-operative care.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule following training.
Requirements
- At least two years of veterinary hospital experience (surgical experience preferred).
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced specialty environment.
- Confident with anesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing.
- Take pride in providing exceptional patient care.
- Value teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Must possess unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

- Weekday Overnights: +$3.50/hour
- Weekend Days: +$3.50/hour
