About the Role
As a Senior Network Solution Designer, you will plan, design, and develop the architecture of modern networks and platforms, taking end-to-end responsibility from technical conception and solution design to integration and continuous development of highly available network infrastructures, modern WLAN technologies, and secure platform services.
Responsibilities
- Conceive, develop, and maintain future-proof network and platform architectures (routing, switching, VPN, WLC, firewalling, load balancing), primarily based on Cisco technologies and solutions from other manufacturers.
- Develop modern automation processes using Python, Ansible, and Terraform, and manage configurations via CI/CD and Git workflows.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-supported approaches for network operations optimization, such as anomaly detection, root cause analysis, proactive troubleshooting, and automation of recurring operational tasks.
- Technically integrate complex systems in the data center, including IP address management, DNS services, and monitoring via Grafana.
- Analyze and resolve highly complex fault scenarios and provide technical support for demanding escalations.
- Advise internal stakeholders and project teams on complex technical issues, evaluate solution alternatives, and contribute to defining architecture standards, best practices, and technical roadmaps.
- Evaluate the latest technologies related to Wi-Fi 6E/7, VXLAN/EVPN, and Zero Trust Network Access to continuously improve the platform ecosystem.
Requirements
- Several years of relevant experience in the conception, development, and maintenance of complex enterprise network architectures.
- Demonstrable experience in technical responsibility for demanding network or platform solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls at CCNP or CCIE level.
- Proficient in BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN, and IPv4/IPv6 planning.
- Solid practical experience with Cisco firewalls, Cisco ISE, IPsec, and FlexVPN.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco WLC and modern wireless standards (WiFi 6E/7).
- Practical experience in automation using Python, APIs, Ansible, or Terraform, and with Docker and GitHub.
- Experience in 3rd-level support and platform monitoring with tools like Grafana.
- Fluent German language skills and good, task-specific English language skills.
- Willingness to travel within Germany.
