About the Role
You will build and manage our first own warehouse in Rangsdorf, directly south of Berlin, taking responsibility from day one. MAGYC DRINKS is a dynamic beverage startup from Berlin, distributing sugar-free energy drinks to various sales channels. You will transform a leased hall into a smoothly operating food warehouse, initially hands-on and later leading your own team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all warehouse operations from truck ramp to customer delivery, reporting directly to management.
- Manage warehouse setup, including commissioning the hall, accepting shelving systems and forklifts, procuring equipment, and establishing a warehouse location system.
- Handle incoming goods, including receiving truck deliveries, unloading, inspecting goods, and storing them via forklift.
- Plan and commission inbound shipments from Poland and other freight forwarders.
- Participate in selecting parcel service providers for the online shop and establishing related processes.
- Manage order picking and dispatch, including assembling deliveries for kiosks, B2B clients, and the online shop, packaging, shipping, and handling returns.
- Implement and maintain food safety concepts, including incoming goods control, traceability by batch and expiry date, FEFO, cleaning, and pest control plans.
- Serve as the local contact for food monitoring authorities.
- Manage inventory within the ERP system (Odoo), including booking goods movements and conducting inventory counts.
- Contribute to the design of system-based warehouse processes.
- Ensure safe operations, conduct training, maintain vehicles, and act as a fire safety officer.
- Build and lead a warehouse team as volume grows, including hiring and training warehouse assistants.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a specialist in warehouse logistics, warehouse clerk, or a comparable qualification.
- Valid forklift license and proficient operation of forklifts and pallet trucks.
- Professional experience in food or beverage logistics, including working with batch, expiry dates, and hygiene regulations.
- Experience with a warehouse management or ERP system, ideally Odoo, and with scanners.
- Experience with freight forwarders, shipping documents, and parcel shipping.
- Initial experience with responsibility for a warehouse area or a small team.
- English language skills for coordination with partners in Poland.
- Willingness to be hands-on, work structurally, and maintain order during busy periods.
- Ability to make independent decisions and enthusiasm for building something from scratch in a startup environment.
