About the Role
Clio is seeking a Senior Software Developer passionate about building innovative solutions, tackling new challenges, and making an impact in the legal AI technology space. The engineering team focuses on delivering an incredible customer experience through performance, reliability, scalability, and an intuitive interface.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of developers to solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions.
- Operate in an agile environment with a team of full stack developers across a variety of projects.
- Learn new technologies and hone craft as a Rails expert.
- Lead diverse projects and collaborate with multiple engineering teams globally.
- Review and provide feedback on code from within the team and across the company.
- Mentor junior engineers to improve their craft and efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to diagnose, understand, and solve problems, and build cross-functional solutions.
- Teach and learn from colleagues, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Requirements
- Experience in software development, specifically building web applications at scale using Ruby on Rails.
- Ability to gain fluency in new technologies quickly and work effectively in an evolving environment with distributed teams and customers.
- Demonstrated success in mentorship in software development, particularly using Agile processes and with large-scale SaaS products.
- Diverse knowledge base to help teams solve complex technical problems.
- History of past projects, including notable successes and lessons learned.
- Clear communication skills and ability to build high-trust relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Keen interest in improving craft by using AI.
- Professional experience building search systems, typically as a Search, Relevance or IR engineer.
- Experience working with and processing large volumes of data.
