About the Role

We are hiring a Product Manager to own the customer experience for writing, testing, and shipping control programs using RevelCode, our domain-specific language for hardware control. You will be responsible for both the language and the IDE, ensuring a seamless and reliable workflow for test and controls engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full workflow for writing, testing, deploying, and monitoring RevelCode, including editing and deploying configurations, unit testing control logic, version control, and dashboard generation.
  • Own RevelCode usability end-to-end, focusing on syntax, snippets, completion, diagnostics, and compiler errors.
  • Conduct customer discovery with engineers and operators, including in air-gapped environments, to identify essential editor features.
  • Develop an IDE strategy that aligns with engineering goals, highlighting the IDE's advantages over general-purpose editors for control programs.

Requirements

  • You have built developer tools and critically evaluate their features.
  • You can interpret compiler errors from a user's perspective and identify issues.
  • You are comfortable working with engineers specializing in systems, compilers, or real-time infrastructure.
  • You can initiate tasks without fully defined requirements.
  • You prioritize product quality and user experience over mere delivery.
  • You have 5+ years of product management experience in developer tools (IDE, code editor, language toolchain, CI system, or SDK).
  • You have hands-on programming experience, including writing and debugging code.
  • You have experience conducting customer research and translating it into a product strategy.
  • You can collaborate with engineers on technical tradeoffs and document them.
  • You have experience coordinating engineers to execute a product vision.
  • You are a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
