About the Role

The Integrated Content Director leads the strategy, planning, and execution of content across the pet parent journey, ensuring brand strategy and communication priorities are translated into relevant, distinctive, and effective content across channels and platforms. This role owns integrated content planning, content governance, creative operations, production planning, agency coordination, and content effectiveness, establishing the processes and ways of working required to deliver high-quality content with greater speed, agility, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated content strategies, translating brand communication platforms and portfolio/innovation priorities into clear content plans across the pet parent journey.
  • Define how content comes to life across paid, owned, earned, social, retail, ecommerce and advocacy touchpoints, ensuring content is connected while being tailored to the role, audience and requirements of each channel.
  • Establish content governance principles, standards and ways of working to ensure consistency with brand strategy, visual identity, claims and communication guidelines while enabling effective local execution.
  • Own the end-to-end content workflow, from briefing and prioritization through creative development, approvals, production and deployment, simplifying processes and improving speed, visibility and accountability.
  • Lead relationships and ways of working with creative, production and content partners, establishing clear scopes, expectations and performance standards while driving quality, efficiency and creative excellence.
  • Accelerate adoption of AI-enabled creative and content solutions to increase speed, agility, personalization and cost efficiency, while establishing appropriate governance and quality standards.
  • Champion the development of content designed for the specific behaviors and requirements of each platform, ensuring creative is relevant to the audience, channel and moment rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • Establish clear content effectiveness principles and measurement frameworks, using performance data, testing and learnings to continuously improve creative quality, relevance and business impact.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Content Strategy, Integrated Marketing, Creative Operations, Brand Communications or related disciplines, ideally within consumer products, retail, ecommerce or consumer-facing organizations.
  • Strong expertise in integrated content strategy and planning, with demonstrated ability to translate brand and communication strategies into effective content ecosystems across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Strong digital-first orientation, with an understanding of platform-specific creative requirements, changing consumer behaviors and the increasing role of content in search, social commerce and digital discovery.
  • Demonstrated experience managing creative agencies, production partners and content ecosystems, including scopes of work, budgets, timelines and performance accountability.
  • Proven experience leading creative operations and production, including briefing, workflow management, asset development, approvals, production planning and deployment across complex organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of content governance and brand management, with experience establishing standards and processes that balance brand consistency with speed and local/channel relevance.
  • Experience with AI-enabled creative and content technologies.
  • Strong analytical orientation, with experience using content performance, testing and insights to optimize creative effectiveness and inform future development.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to develop talent, build capabilities and foster a high-performing, collaborative content culture.
